Moving El Cellar de Can Roca down to No. 02, Massimo Bottura and his Osteria Francescana in Modena finally reached the highest spot at the 2016 50 World’s Best Restaurant Awards.
“I want to thank everyone because it’s been so hard, our job is all about art work,” an ecstatic Bottura told the ceremony. “It’s all about our work, in the kitchen everyday to work and succeed.”
The ceremony held for the first time in 15 years in New York, attended by hundreds of chefs from around the world. The two are now followed by Eleven Madison Park in Manhattan that moved up from No. 5 (last year) to No. 3.
Biggest surprise for Noma, the restaurant in Copenhagen, which has been in the top three every year since 2009, has been ranked No. 5.

Riuscire in questi giorni significa usare l’ingrediente della cultura perché la cultura è conoscenza e la conoscenza apre le coscienze e crea responsabilità”
La cerimonia dei 50 World’s Best Restaurant, tenutasi ieri sera a New York dopo 15 anni, ha visto partecipi centinaia di chef da tutto il mondo. I due primi ristoranti si lasciano alle spalle Eleven Madison Park di Manhattan che sale quest’anno dal 5 al 3 posto.
La più grande sorpresa però resta il 5 posto del Noma, il ristorante di Rene Redzepi di Copenhagen, che sin dal 2009 non ha mai abbandonato le prime tre posizioni della classifica.
