From October 21st to 24th, Milan will stage the 9th edition of Milan Design Film Festival.
Curated by Silvia Robertazzi (founder as well) and co-curator Porzia Bergamasco, the topic of this year’s edition is RESET, a fresh start long needed.
Architecture / Art of Thinking / Biography / Design / Italian Panorama / Urban Life/ Animation / Interior frames / Sustainability / Food / Landscape / Bloom are the categories through which the theme will be developed, suggesting the general public different perspectives and contemporary ideas about design and architecture.
The 2021 will be a “phygital” edition, offering both digital (on milanofilmfestival.com) and physical screening of movies, documentaries, biopics, debates taking places in several milanese locations like Teatro Franco Parenti, Villa Scheibler, LOM – Locanda Officina Monumentale.
Guest curator for the category CIAK IN ITALY are the italian architects Gianandrea Barreca and Giovanni La Varra, from Barreca & La Varra firm, who have selected different films from foreign directors looking at the italian landscape as a perfect background to narrate a story.
Also the duo Formafantasma will join the event, leading the section Bloom, investigating the relationship between man and Nature.
The festival kicks off on Monday 18th with the premiere of The importance of being an architect (by Giorgio Ferrero and Federico Biasin).
