Baxter, the renown italian design brand, has launched last week its new showroom in a precious location that once hosted the cinema President, in the heart of Milan.
The project of restoration aimed at changing but at the same time preserving the original spaces, choosing to make the original raw structure pretty visible in some corners.
Structured on two floors, the ground one holds the windows of the new Baxter Shop, where Baxter furniture becomes the absolute main character. Just next to these windows, there’s a Baxter – branded club bar, making it the perfect spot for meetings or just a grab a drink. A big staircase then, connects the road floor to the underground heart of the building. Here beams of light filter through some cuts inside the structure itself, creating a fascinating and theatrical atmosphere. Here the real main character of the store is just this space, where the original screening area of the cinema was kept to welcome visitors. Here you can discover collaborations born with excellencies of different fields. Some corners were covered with a hand-painted wallpaper, carried out exclusively for Baxter, with irregular geometrical patterns and colour shades that range from green to purplish red. There is also a bookshop area with design books available for consultation.
Baxter cinema is a place to discover, born with the aim of making consumers able to experience furniture, cinema and books, and having a drink in the meanwhile.

Il progetto di ristrutturazione mirava a modificare ma al tempo stesso conservare gli spazi originali, puntando anche a rendere visibile la struttura grezza di alcuni angoli.
Strutturato su due piani, il piano terra ospita le vetrine del nuovo negozio Baxter, dove gli arredi Baxter diventano l’assoluto protagonista. Appena adiacenti alle vetrine, trova spazio un club bar marchiato Baxter, il luogo ideale per meeting o per un semplice drink. Una grande scalinata poi, collega il piano strada al cuore sotterraneo dell’edificio. Qui fasci di luce naturale filtrano da tagli realizzati all’interno della struttura stessa, creando così un’atmosfera coinvolgente e teatrale. Qui il vero protagonista è proprio questo spazio, dove ad accogliere i visitatori è stata mantenuta l’area di proiezione originale del cinema. In questi spazi si è invitati a scoprire le collaborazioni nate con eccellenze di diversi settori. Alcuni angoli sono stati rivestiti con una carta da parati dipinta a mano realizzata in esclusiva per Baxter con disegni geometrici irregolari e sfumature di colore che vanno dal verde all’amaranto. E’ stata poi creata anche un’area bookshop con libri di design disponibili alla consultazione.
Baxter Cinema è in definitiva un luogo da scoprire, nato con l’obiettivo di dare la possibilità agli utenti di vivere gli arredi, il cinema ed i libri, e perché no, godersi un drink durante la visita.
