Kiosque, Tuileries Garden // Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec

On the occasion of FIAC, the International Contemporary Art Fair, our beloved Bouroullec brothers have been asked by french real estate developer Emerige, to think of a modular unit that could welcome social and cultural events.

The two came up with Kiosque, a modular pavillon, manufactured by the Ateliers of La Machine in Nantes, that can be easily transported inside a truck and assembled on site like an urban furniture, in just three hours. The rectangular unit has been designed with a broad roof overhanging the perimeter walls in order to create a sheltered external terrace, illuminated by big hanging lamps. As a consequence of the modularity, the roof too can be stacked and moved in a trailer as it folds into itself in two panel sections.

The Kiosques are now available for visits until the beginning of November in the beautiful setting of Jardin des Tuileries as part of the Hors les Murs extension of FIAC. They will be then donated to the City of Paris.

// In occasione della FIAC, Fiera Internazionale di Arte Contemporanea, i nostri adorati fratelli Bouroullec sono stati invitati dall’azienda imprenditrice immobiliare Emerige, a pensare ad una unità modulare che potesse ospitare eventi sociali e culturali.

I due hanno così ideato Kiosque, un padiglione modulare, realizzato dall’Atelier of La Machine di Nantes, che può essere facilmente trasportabile all’interno di un camion e assemblato sul posto come fosse arredo urbano, in sole tre ore. L’unità rettangolare è stata concepita con un tetto ampio che sporge dai muri perimetrali in modo da creare al di sotto una terrazza esterna coperta, illuminata ad hoc da grandi lampade a sospensione. Come conseguenza della modularità, anche il tetto può essere impilato e posizionato in un camion vista la possibilità di piegarlo su stesso in due sezioni.

I Kiosques sono aperti al pubblico fino ai primi giorni di Novembre nella bellissima cornice del Jardin des Tuileries e rientrano nel programma del Hors les Murs del FIAC. Dopo l’evento saranno donati alla città di Parigi.
