Cristina Celestino x Fendi

Presented during the last edition of Milan Design Week, “Back Home” is a new furniture collection by italian designer Cristina Celestino for FENDI, produced by Luxury Living Group, created to celebrate the Maison’s iconic Pequin striped motif, born the same year of the launch of the House, in 1987.

The collection consists of a refined and creative range of furniture pieces, showing an intriguing combination of materials, like elegant marbles and onyxes and fascinating metallic surfaces for surprising tactile and colour effects.
Sinuous armchairs and sofas wears perfectly the Pequin stripes, mixing feminine shapes with a mannish geometric look.  Together with the stripes the italian designer, who had access to FENDI archives, chose the rose like design (created by Karl Lagerfeld in 1983) and used it for the coffee tables and the carpets, where she let the FF logo emerge gracefully.

Fashion is also part of the inspiration for the collection, with the range of mirrors and lamps revealing silhouettes inspired by cufflinks, while the cabinets echo Art Decò’s stylistic codes with their juxtaposition of geometric shapes, bold curves, strong vertical lines, sport surfaces.
