The moment has come. Ai Weiwei finally got his passport back from the chinese government and decided to tell the world by snapping a picture of himself holding the document in one hand and posting it on Instagram saying “Today, I got my passport”. After 4 years stuck in China over a contested tax bill, he’s now free to leave the country again.
First trip will be to Germany to see his son and then London, where the Royal Academy of Arts is presenting the first major institutional presentation of his work in the UK starting from September 19.

Per celebrare il momento Ai ha deciso di comunicarlo al mondo scattandosi una foto con in mano il documento e postandola su Instagram con la frase: “Oggi, ho riavuto il mio passaporto”. Dopo 4 anni bloccato in Cina per aver contestato una cartella esattoriale, è ora nuovamente libero di lasciare il paese.
Il primo viaggio in Germania per vedere suo figlio e subito dopo Londra, dove la Royal Academy of Arts presenterà la prima grande mostra nel Regno Unito dedicata al suo lavoro che inaugurerà il prossimo 19 Settembre.
