First announced back in 2014, ‘Daft Punk Unchained’ will be the first documentary produced by the BBC Worldwide about the French dance music duo. It will narrate the story of the band, from their beginnings in the underground scene of Paris till the winning of the Grammy Awards in 2014.
“Daft Punk Unchained is the first film about the pop culture phenomenon that is Daft Punk… This documentary explores this unprecedented cultural revolution revealing a duo of artists on a permanent quest for creativity, independence and freedom. Between fiction and reality, magic and secret, future and reinvention, theatricality and humility, The Robots have built a unique world. The film combines rare archive footage as well as exclusive interviews with their closest collaborators”, explains the press release.
The documentary will feature interviews with Kanye West, Pharrell, Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, Michel Gondry, and Paul Williams and it’s set to air on the 24th of June only on french station Canal+. Let’s hope for an international release date later this month.

Il documentario conterrà interviste con personaggi del calibro di Kanye West, Pharrell, Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, Michel Gondry, e Paul Williams ed andrà in onda il 24 Giugno ma solo sulla rete francese Canal+. Speriamo quindi che la distribuzione su scala internazionale venga annunciata presto.
