New York Design Week is all about social for Foscarini. The famous italian lighting design brand has committed a new photo/art project to Gianluca Vassallo, an italian photographer from Sardinia.
Twice Light (this the name of the project) aims at creating small temporary communities by inviting two strangers to come together for a moment under the new oversize version of the classic Twiggy lamp designed by Marc Sadler back in 2006. The strangers, men and women, children and pets, stare into each others eyes under the Twice as Twiggy lamp so that the photographer can capture the very moment in which they start to connect right after the first instants of awkwardness.
The project travelled around New York during the week and stopped at Central Park, Washington Square, Chelsea, Coney Island and Soho. You can head here to discover all the pictures and locations together with a diary of the artist about his touring around the city.

Twice Light, questo il nome del progetto, mira a creare delle piccole comunità temporanee invitando due sconosciuti ad unirsi sotto la nuova versione oversize della lampada Twiggy, un classico Foscarini disegnato da Marc Sadler nel 2006. Gli sconosciuti, uomini e donne, bambini e animali domestici, guardandosi negli occhi si incontrano sotto la lampada Twice as Twiggy, e lì l’artista si impegna a cogliere l’esatto momento in cui i due iniziano ad entrare in sintonia, abbandonando l’iniziale imbarazzo.
