The time has come, and not only for the much anticipated Expo that is happening in Milan. In two days Armani Silos will open its doors to the city as well. In a former Nestlè factory, in front of his headquarters and his famous Teatro, the maestro will present permanently the history of the Armani collections (40 years of work) with designs and sketches but the project includes a digital archive as well (that can be consulted for free by appointment). On the name of the venue Mr. Armani told:
“I maintained the name Silos because I like it. It contained food, which you need for life, just as wearing clothes is part of life.”
For the occasion also a stamp will be released and it’ll look something like the one below…

// Il momento è arrivato, e non solo per Expo che aprirà a Milano nei prossimi giorni. Il primo Maggio apre le sue porte alla città anche Armani Silos. Costato 50 milioni di euro e costruito all’interno di una ex fabbrica Nestlè situtata di fronte alla sede di via Bergognone e al suo Teatro, il Silos ospiterà permanentemente la storia delle collezioni della casa di moda, più di quarant’anni di lavoro, con abiti e disegni insieme ad un archivio digitale, il cui accesso sarà libero per tutti previa appuntamento. Sul nome del museo, Armani si è così espresso:
“Ci è piaciuto chiamarlo Silos – spiega – perché lì c’era del cibo, materiale per vivere, e per il mio modo di pensare il vestire fa parte della vita”.
Per l’occasione verrà rilasciato anche un francobollo e avrà più o meno questo disegno..
