SANBA is back

The second edition of ‘SanBa’, the evolving project conceived by creative team Walls and hosted in San Basilio district, kicked off last January. The venture takes place in a suburban area of Rome which, for the occasion, enliven itself with street art performances and several initiatives for bringing residents together.
After last spring successful first edition (in which two famous street artists, the spanish Liqen and the sicilian Agostino Iacurci, were involved), over the last few weeks the students of ‘Mahatma Gandhi’ school took part in the creative workshop ‘Draw your SanBa’, thinking and conceiving little street art works for their district. Now February comes with the second stage of the event. Team Walls has invited to join the initiative the well-known muralist Hitnes, who, helped by the citizens, is already at work on some building façades realizing murals that will be unveiled and donated to San Basilio on February 28th, day of the final big celebration.

Dopo il successo riscosso con la prima edizione della scorsa primavera (che ha visto protagonisti due street artist, lo spagnolo Liqen e il siciliano Agostino Iacurci), nel mese di gennaio si è svolto il laboratorio creativo Draw your SanBa che ha visto coinvolti i ragazzi dell’istituto “Mahtma Gandhi” nell’immaginare e realizzare piccole opere di street art per il proprio territorio. Con il mese di Febbraio si è avviata la seconda fase dell’iniziativa che vede già al lavoro il noto muralista Hitnes. Aiutato dagli abitanti di San Basilio realizzerà nuovi murales su alcune facciate dei palazzi del quartiere che terminati, verranno finalmente svelati e “regalati” agli abitanti con una grande festa finale prevista per il 28 febbraio.
