Wearable Art by Viktor & Rolf

They did it again. Shown on July 8th, 2015, during Paris Haute Couture Week, Viktor&Rolf‘s latest collection litterally amazed us and pretty sure everyone else. Fashion artists Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren used a combination of fashion and art to present their new collection of wearable art.

Models walk the runway dressed in Renaissance and Baroque printed skirts and dresses hemmed with cracked wooden frames. As they reach the end of the catwalk, the fashion duo takes the stage to reclaim their “works of art” and recreate every single one of them, hanging them on a white wall as they were real paintings.

Recognizing the artistry behind the collection, renowned art collector Han Nefkens and longstanding collaborator of Viktor&Rolf acquired an Haute Couture art piece after the collection was shown in Paris on July 8th, 2015, which will be donated to the Rotterdam Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen.
