Hilla Shamia, an industrial designer based in Tel Aviv, conceived new furniture using wood and cast aluminium. She uses full lenght tree trunks divided in two to create the plank. Then the wooden part is inserted into the form furniture mould (table, stools and benches) and in the end the molten aluminium is poured over it to complete the piece. The metal spreads into the cracks of the wood and because of its heat tends to create a new material, coal, that we can see in the dark line between the edges of the wood. // Hilla Shamia, industrial designer di Tel Aviv, ha ideato una nuova serie di arredi utilizzando come materiali principali il legno e l’alluminio fuso.
